Our mission is to provide Southern California and the American Southwest with organic local seeds that have been acclimated to the range of microclimates we have, along with education on all aspects of growing, so that growers can be as successful as possible. We believe in sustainable growing practices, seed saving, and healthy, local food systems. We works with a wide range of non-profit organizations and community gardens to encourage these sustainable practices. We also support those who are gardening in San Diego, Southern California, and the American Southwest with the knowledge they need to be successful.

All plants have a certain temperature range in which they can grow, also known as their hardiness. While knowing a plant's hardiness is not the only indicator of success, it is the key to selecting which plants will be able to grow in your garden. 

Luckily for you, the different planting zones don’t change much from year to year. The plants you put it this year should do just fine when they come up again next year. Here is some great information that will help you figure out what plants can grow where you live or if a plant you want to grow can survive...like those juicy strawberries!
